Revera “Steppers” Walking Club invites local seniors to join our first annual “Steppers” walking program. Revera Retirement formerly Retirement Residence Group (RRG) is proud to be one of Canada’s largest providers of retirement residences, long term care homes and in-home care for over 50 years. The Revera Steppers is a self-guided or virtual club. There is no getting together with a group. You do not need to drive or get to a specific location. You simply walk around your neighborhood or take one of our self-guided walking routes. To become a Revera Stepper you simply register at any of our 13 Revera Retirement Residences across Ottawa including Colonel By, Sterling Place, Central Park Lodge and Robertson House Retirement Residences.

If you cannot get there call or have a family drop in on your behalf. You will receive a getting started kit that includes a pedometer and various educational and instructional booklets kindly donated by Ottawa Public Health. You’ll keep track of your steps (from the step counter on the pedometer) and monthly report the steps back to us. We will total all our steps and transfer them into mileage. The challenge is for Revera Steppers, as a group, to virtually walk across Eastern Ontario & back through our step count. You can walk as much or as little as you like. There will be a motivational newsletter each month mailed to you and in September a celebration banquet where all the Revera Steppers will gather and celebrate with great trophies and awards of excellence. The program runs from May 1st to September 30th. You may join anytime throughout the summer. It is completely free to join with no obligations.
