Police Investigating Driver Clocked Going 200 km/h in City's West End

Officers were placed in the west end along Slack Road, Woodroffe Avenue, Hunt Club road and Hazeldean.

It was a busy weekend for Ottawa Police as they continued issuing tickets to speeders as part of Operation Noisemaker.

Police say they issued 116 provincial offence notices, as well as 79 to speeders, seven for stunt driving and seven for excessive noise on Friday and Saturday nights, they said in a tweet Sunday morning.  On Friday night alone, 50 tickets were issued, which included 40 speeding tickets.  Officers were placed in the west end along Slack Road, Woodroffe Avenue, Hunt Club road and Hazeldean.  Ottawa Police also say they are investigating a driver who was estimated to be travelling 200 km/h on Woodroffe.

Charges, they say, have not yet been laid.  The operation also included Gatineau Police and the Surete du Quebec, who focus on interprovincial bridges.
