Come and Discover Pinhey Sand Dunes

Unique in all of Canada, these dunes, located just off Slack Road, Nepean, contain an ecosystem dating from the last glacial period that ended 15 thousand years ago. Free presentation, followed by a tour of dunes located at Corner of Vaan Dr. and Pineland Ave., led by Biodiversity scientists.

Where: Nepean Sportsplex-Hall E, Entrance 4 Second Floor
Park at the back of the building. The hall is wheelchair accessible.
Time: 1:00 – 2:40pm Presentation by Biodiversity Conservancy Scientists
Tour: Rain or Shine
Where: Dunes at Corner of Vaan Dr. and Pineland Ave.
Just south of the Nepean Sportsplex in Merivale Gardens - a short 1.2km (2 minute drive/15 minute walk) from the Sportsplex---turn left on Woodroffe then take the first left onto Vaan Drive. Park on South side of Pineland. The dunes are not Wheelchair accessible.
Time: 3:00 – 4:00pm Tour at Dunes led by the Biodiversity Scientists & volunteers.
Free light refreshment available, To be environmentally friendly, please bring your own reusable water bottle for taking to the Dunes site.
