The Glens Community Association Membership

Everyone who lives in The Glens is eligible to become a member. We enroll members by household, and all adults (18+) have voting privileges at the Annual GCA meeting.
A household is defined as all those living under one roof. This may be an extended family, a family with boarders or a group of adults living together.

A 1 year membership is $10.00

By registering and establishing your household account, you would be able to participate in the services offered through the Association. You can pay for these services online by credit card, PayPal, cheque, and cash via mail or hand delivery.

How do I create my Glens CA website account?

STEP 1 - Community Registration
You must register with the Glens Community website in order to identify that you live in the community (name & address) and to specify your payment preference for the membership drive.

You can do this by going directly to this by Clicking on the Register button below.
Once you complete the web form you can proceed to Step 2.

STEP 2 - Website Account Creation
Please go to directly to this URL:
https://www.glenscommunity.ca/news
When you arrive at the page, you will have 3 options to create a website account. You can reuse your Facebook account; you can reuse your Google/Gmail account; or you can create a new username and password. If you don't want to have to remember another username/password, it is best to simply reuse your Facebook or Google/Gmail credentials.

Once you have completed Step 1 and 2, (your registration and account creation) your website account will be verified and you will receive an email verifying your account.

Please note that if you perform step 2 before step 1, it is not a problem, but it will be more difficult to verify your account. Please ensure that you complete both steps for your account to be created and for you to receive email information.

Once your account is verified, you can comment on Blog entries and contribute to the website. If you chose, you will also be able to pay the annual membership online. We will be adding a page to pay your membership closer to the Membership Drive.

Who can be members?

Everyone who lives or works in The Glens is eligible. We enroll members by household and all adults (18+) have voting privileges at the Annual GCA meeting.
A household is defined as all those living under one roof. This may be an extended family, a family with boarders or a group of adults living together.

Why does the GCA ask for adult members’ name, phone number and email address?

We need this information so that the GCA can contact you, should an urgent issue arise. We’ll only contact you if there is an important development in your immediate area, for example, a street closure or a controversial development proposal. If you’ve agreed, we’ll also email regular summaries on GCA issues.
The GCA needs to know about its demographic so that we can honestly claim to be representative of the community. If challenged, the association must be in a position to know who is a member and how many members we have.

How does the GCA protect my privacy?

Information collected is exclusively for the use of the GCA and is never provided to any other organization. However, if a member does not want some of this information to be recorded, we will respect their wishes.

What if I can’t buy online?

The GCA’s membership campaign involves numerous volunteers. You may not be home when our representative knocks on your door, however you can still join the GCA by completing the membership form.
An annual membership is only $10.00 per household.
